The New York Knicks will face the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the NBA Cup after defeating the Raptors 101-117 in Toronto on Tuesday in a game in which Jalen Brunson scored 35 points.
Teammate Karl-Anthony Towns finished the night with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. For the Raptors, Brandon Ingram once again stood out with 31 points. Canadian point guard Jamal Shead scored 18 points, a new career-high.
Brunson drives the streak

Led by Brunson, the Knicks maintained their winning streak against the Canadian team.
With Tuesday night’s win, the New York Islanders have now beaten the Raptors the last 10 games they have played.
The Raptors, who had not lost a Cup game this season until today, were missing two of their starters, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, and second-rotation regular Jamison Battle.
The home side started the game the way their coach, Darko Rajakovic, wanted them to.
With an inspired Ingram on offense, the Raptors finished the first quarter ahead, 39-35, with 17 points from the forward.
Knicks defense shuts down Ingram

But in the second quarter, the Knicks’ defensive discipline prevailed and dried up Ingram, who could only score two points.
Without the forward’s contribution, the Raptors could only score 13 points in the second quarter, while the Knicks scored 34.
The Knicks went into the locker room at halftime with a 17-point lead, 52-79.
A distance that the Raptors were unable to close in the second half of the game.
Ingram and Shead kept trying, while Scottie Barnes, the Raptors’ leader, was still missing.
At the end of the third quarter, the Knicks held a comfortable lead, 79-94.
The last 12 minutes were a formality, with the Raptors already thinking about the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Knicks were preparing the plane to fly to Las Vegas, where on Saturday they will play the Orlando Magic for a place in the final of the Cup to be played on December 16.
