The speech against ICE was harsh and forceful.

U.S. star Lady Gaga paused a concert in Tokyo to take a stand against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) and send a message of support to communities under attack by U.S. President Donald Trump.

“In a couple of days, I will return home and it hurts my heart to think of the people, the children, the families all over the United States who are being mercilessly targeted by ICE. I think of all their pain and how their lives are being destroyed before our eyes,” the singer said.

Gaga added that she also thinks of the people of Minnesota “and everyone at home living in such fear and searching for answers about what we should do. When whole communities lose their sense of security and belonging, something breaks in all of us.”

“We need to return to a place of safety, peace and responsibility. Good people should not have to fight so hard and risk their lives for welfare and respect. I hope our leaders are listening. I hope they are listening to us as we ask them to change their course of action quickly and have mercy on everyone in our country,” he said.

Gaga’s speech follows the recent shooting death of Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents, the second such incident in Minneapolis.

This death is in addition to that of Renée Good, who was shot by another immigration agent on January 7.

The case has rekindled the anger of many Americans with the White House, especially because several members of the Cabinet, as happened in the death of Good, accused the victim of criminal behavior, reported Agencia EFE.
