Mexico’s National Team drew 0-0 on Saturday against Uruguay in a preparation match for the 2026 World Cup, which took place in Torreón, Coahuila, north of the Mexican capital.
Mexico, coached by Javier Aguirre, dominated the first minutes of the game; they had a chance to open the scoring in the 13th minute when Mathías Olivera made a mistake at the start and Raúl Jiménez found a ball inside the area, but before shooting, goalkeeper Santiago Mele saved to prevent his shot.

The South American team’s defensive disarray led to the best chances for their opponents, who failed to score due to the poor finishing of strikers Raúl Jiménez and Hirving Lozano.
In the second half, Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa’s team adjusted.
Their players pressed Mexico from the start, which caused the game to be locked in midfield with few shots on goal.
Mexico will play its second friendly match of this FIFA date next Tuesday, November 18 against Paraguay in San Antonio (Texas), the same day that Uruguay will play against the United States in Tampa (Florida).
