Journalist and anchor Pamela Silva, one of Univision’s most recognized figures, opened her heart like rarely before in an interview with Lourdes Del Río for her En Positivo podcast.
In this conversation, the Primer Impacto co-host spoke with uncommon honesty about the hardest and most transformative episodes of her life, including her divorce in the middle of her pregnancy, her experience as a single mother and the fundamental role of faith in her emotional recovery process.
During the talk, Silva – who has won six Emmy Awards for her journalistic work – was “authentic, vulnerable and deeply human”, addressing personal issues that, although they have marked her life, she had rarely commented on in public.
Pamela recalled the difficult moments she went through during her separation, a process that became public just when she was pregnant with her son Ford, in 2020. With serenity, she explained that the divorce was a painful experience, comparable to a deep emotional loss.
“Divorce, without a doubt, I have always said, is like going to a funeral, but no one has died. It is sad and it is going through the mourning of something that was the vision of what you wanted,” expressed the communicator.
Silva confessed that, due to her reserved nature, many people did not know the magnitude of what she was going through until the news became public. However, in the midst of the media storm, she found strength in her faith.
Pamela Silva: Faith as a refuge and driving force of life

Pamela recounted that her spiritual connection was a determining factor in getting through that period. She recalled a moment when, while praying, she experienced a sense of comfort that marked her deeply.
“I remember I was praying one day and I felt a hand that told me: ‘Get up, everything is going to be all right’. That day I felt an inexplicable peace of mind,” she recounted. “Everyone was telling me, ‘Look what’s happening and how are you doing,’ but I had a peace that can only come from God.”
That experience allowed him to understand that moments of crisis are temporary and that, with faith, everything finds its purpose. “For those who are going through difficult processes, whether of change or loss, have faith. It is temporary, and in the end everything works out for God’s plans, which are the best,” he said.
The journalist also talked about her most important facet: motherhood. Her son Ford, whom she defines as “the greatest blessing” of her life, has been her main source of motivation. Silva emphasized that the child maintains a close relationship with both her and his father, and considered this essential for his emotional development.
“It’s been such a blessing to have Ford’s dad super-involved in his upbringing,” she noted. “The baby boy needs mom for a lot of things and he needs dad for other things, too. Having that presence from both of them has been very healthy for him, and I love watching him shine with both of them.”
The presenter mentioned that both parents share daily responsibilities, from school meetings to extracurricular activities, always seeking to prioritize the welfare of the child.
During the interview, Lourdes Del Río asked her directly if she would consider using her frozen eggs to give Ford a little brother. With sincerity, Pamela acknowledged that it is something she has thought about, although she has not made a decision.
“My sister is so special to me, I would love for Ford to have something like that too. But I also see the strength of genetics. I look at Ford and I see a lot of me and her dad, and that impresses me. I’ve debated it, but I don’t know if I’d have the courage to do it alone,” she admitted.
Her words reflect a balance between reflection and vulnerability, showing a Pamela who is mature, aware and grateful for the road she has traveled.
With this conversation, Pamela Silva not only offered an honest look at her personal process, but also sent a message of hope to those going through difficult times. Her story is a testimony of resilience, faith and maternal love, values that have guided her life and career in front of the cameras and beyond.
