In recent days there were reports that Gerard Piqué, former FC Barcelona player and current businessman, had become engaged to his girlfriend Clara Chía Martí.
The information arose from a report by journalist Adri Toval, who stated that the ex-defender had already taken the next step in their relationship and that even Shakira, Pique’s ex-partner, would be aware of it.
However, the news was strongly denied.
Paparazzo Jordi Martin, a regular contributor to the show El Gordo y La Flaca, said through his YouTube channel on September 8 that sources very close to the former player completely ruled out that there are any wedding plans.
According to Martin, people in Pique’s inner circle confirmed that the Catalan has never had any intention of getting married. “People close to Piqué, people of his utmost confidence, completely deny me this news. We can deny the news that Gerard Piqué would have asked Clara Chía to marry him,” said the journalist.
The paparazzo even pointed out that Piqué himself, in private conversations, would have clearly expressed his position on marriage. “I’m told that Piqué, from his own mouth, said: ‘I’m never going to get married,'” Martin recounted.
For the communicator, these words take on special relevance when recalling that during the 12 years he was in a relationship with Shakira, with whom he had two children, there was never any talk of engagement or going down the aisle.
Will Piqué do the same to Clara Chía as he did to Shakira?

In addition to the alleged engagement, in recent months versions also circulated about an alleged pregnancy of Clara Chía Martí and about an alleged breakup with the ex-football player. Jordi Martin addressed both topics and described them as false.
Regarding the pregnancy, he was categorical: “Pique’s entourage denies it completely, gentlemen, they tell me that it is absolutely false,” he said.
Regarding the alleged separation, Martin recalled that the news gained momentum when journalist Adriana Dorronsoro, a contributor to Telecinco in Spain, claimed that the couple had ended their relationship. “Quickly that news ran worldwide (…) and I also quickly got in touch with Piqué’s entourage and they completely denied that news,” he explained.
The paparazzo did acknowledge that the relationship between Gerard Pique and Clara Chia Marti has had difficulties, as any couple bond. “I was told that the relationship was going well, that Buzzy was in love, that yes it is true that they had argued in recent months (…) but from there to a breakup there would be a very big stretch,” he pointed out.
So far, neither Gerard Piqué nor Clara Chía Martí have publicly commented on the rumors of marriage, pregnancy or separation.
What has become clear is that, according to sources close to the former soccer player, marriage is not part of his plans, thus reaffirming a position he already held during more than a decade of relationship with Shakira.
