The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 31-27 on Sunday at Seattle’s Lumen Field Stadium, with a stellar performance by quarterback Sam Darnold, and qualified for the Super Bowl on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where they will face the New England Patriots.
Sam Darnold played the best game of his career and threw for 346 yards, with three touchdown passes, to punch the Seahawks’ ticket to their first Super Bowl in ten years.

They will face, once again, Drake Maye’s New England Patriots, who just this past Sunday doubled up the Denver Broncos 10-7, in a rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl.
It was a great night of soccer at Lumen Field in Seattle.
The Seahawks, the best team in the regular season, came out on top, despite the extraordinary performance of QB Matthew Stafford for the Rams.
Darnold had been intercepted six times in the two games against the Rams in the regular season, but had a stellar game on Sunday.
Despite living with an abdominal problem, the Seattle quarterback connected on 25 of his 36 passes and delivered three TD passes.
The Seahawks, the NFL’s best defense, needed Darnold’s brilliant performance to beat the Rams, where Stafford totaled 374 air yards (22 of 35 passing) and delivered three touchdown passes.

It was a spectacle from the opening kickoff in Seattle. Darnold started it off with a 51-yard line to Rashid Shaheed and Keneth Walker found light in the Rams defense to score the first touchdown of the night for the Seahawks.
The Rams, despite the huge home crowd support for the Seahawks, managed to strike back.
Stafford found a spectacular line to Puka Nacua and Harrison Mevis cut back with a 44-yard field goal.
After an exchange of field goals, Stafford delivered his first touchdown pass to Kyren Williams for the Rams’ 13-10 lead with 1:55 to play in the second half.
But before halftime, Darnold answered with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The Seahawks took a 17-13 lead into the locker room and increased the lead early in the third period by taking advantage of a Xavier Smith fumble on a punt reception. Darnold found a 17-yard line to Jake Bobo, who scored the TD to make it 24-13.

The Rams were on the ropes, but managed to get back into the game.
Thanks to the connection between Stafford and Davante Adams for the 24-20 TD and, after Cooper Kupp’s 31-20 TD for Seattle, a naivety by the home side.
On a Rams fourth down, Riq Woolen taunted opponents to celebrate his defensive play and drew a 15-yard penalty for the Seahawks.
It was a potentially key moment in the match.
Because the Rams got the ball back on first down and Stafford punished Seattle with a spectacular 34-yard line to Puka Nacua for 27-31.
The Rams also had possession to complete the comeback. Stafford saved the run on fourth down and one yard to go, but was unable to connect on the touchdown pass on fourth down and four following.
Seattle was saved and a momentous first down by Cooper Kupp down the stretch opened the door to the Super Bowl for the Seahawks.
Next February 8 in Santa Clara there will be a rematch against the Patriots, who in 2015 denied them the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
