Expectations were very high. Since it was announced that Shakira would return to Medellin after almost 30 years, rumors about a possible appearance by Karol G began to circulate strongly. Many dreamed of seeing the two Colombian superstars together on stage, especially because of the success they share with the song “TQG”. However, although the “Bichota” did not appear on either of the two scheduled dates, the audience was not disappointed.
The concerts, held on April 12 and 13 at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium, offered two memorable nights with surprise guests of note: Maluma and Carlos Vives, who raised the emotional and symbolic level of this long-awaited reunion of Shakira with her country even higher.
Maluma ignited the first night

During the first concert, on Saturday the 12th, Maluma made an unexpected entrance that unleashed the euphoria of the more than 40,000 attendees.
The reguetonero paisa performed with Shakira a salsa version of their collaboration “Chantaje”, transforming the stage into a party full of Colombian flavor.
The “Pretty Boy” not only sang, but also danced salsa with Shakira, generating a chemistry on stage that provoked ovations from beginning to end.
This appearance was especially significant for Medellín, as Maluma is a native of the city, and his union with Shakira in his own home was celebrated as a gesture of generational union in Colombian urban and pop music.
Hours after the concert, the singer thanked Maluma on her Instagram account for a great night.
Carlos Vives gave emotion at the second show

In the second show, on Sunday the 13th, Shakira surprised her fans again with another meaningful collaboration.
This time it was Carlos Vives, one of the most beloved icons of Colombian music, who took the stage to perform with her the hit “La Bicicleta”.
The song, released in 2016, has become a symbol of national identity and pride, and singing it in Medellín, with both artists together, was an emotionally charged moment that made the entire stadium vibrate.
Without Karol G, but with Colombian flavor and identity

Although Karol G did not perform on any of the dates, and that left some fans with mixed feelings, Shakira’s two chosen guests -Maluma and Vives- offered unique moments that deeply connected with the spirit of the tour: celebrating the power of music made in Colombia, by Colombians.
Shakira also included in her repertoire recent songs such as “Te Felicito” and “TQG” (the latter without Karol G), combined with classics such as “Antología”, “Pies Descalzos, Sueños Blancos”, “Ojos Así”, and international hits such as “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Waka Waka”.
Next stop: United States and Canada
After her triumphant performance in Medellín, Shakira is preparing to kick off the North American leg of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour”, which will begin on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The tour will tour key cities such as Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, where it will end on June 30, 2025.
The tour promises to be one of the biggest musical events of the year for the U.S. Latino community, with sold-out shows in multiple cities and a stage production that blends the best of technology, art and Shakira’s unparalleled charisma.
Thank you, Maluma, for singing this song with me, a milestone in Latin music history with 3 billion streams! I would sing it with you a thousand times over! I love you!
