The Houston Texans beat the Kansas City Chiefs 10-20 on Sunday, with a great defensive performance, which reduced their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
In the week 14 game of the NFL season, Houston won its fifth consecutive victory, which placed it with eight wins and five losses in second place in the North division of the American Football Conference (AFC), within playoff positions.
Texans dismantle Mahomes

The Chiefs moved to 6-7 in third place in the AFC West, a division they no longer have a chance to win.
Kansas City has a 12 percent chance of rebounding to reach the postseason.
Houston’s defense intercepted Patrick Mahomes three times and caught him twice.
The Texans dominated the first half thanks to their defense that consistently pressured Mahomes and held the home team scoreless.
Houston’s offense forged an 0-10 lead thanks to a 35-yard field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn in the first quarter and a C.J. Stroud to Woody Marks diagonal route in the second half.
The Chiefs offense was so out of rhythm that even Harrison Butker, one of the league’s most effective kickers, missed a 43-yard field goal with a minute left before halftime.
Roles were exchanged

Kansas City woke up thanks to an explosive start by its defense led by Chris Jones, who with his pressure on Stroud stopped the Texans offense.
This allowed their offense to break the zero with a Kareem Hunt carry to get within 7-10 and equalize 10-10 with a 36-yard field goal by Butker.
Houston’s defense was once again decisive in the last period.
He stopped the Chiefs on fourth down at their 32-yard line and set the stage for Dare Ogunbowale’s touchdown on the ground to give his team a 10-17 lead.
The Texans defensive secondary rounded out their great game with their third interception, now by Azeez Al-Shaair.
The offense capitalized with a field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn to seal the 10-20 win.
Week 14 will conclude this Monday with the visit of the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles to the Los Angeles Chargers.
