‘The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, the prequel to the popular series ‘Game of Thrones’, will premiere next January 18, announced Thursday the streaming platform HBO, which presented the trailer of the new series at the New York Comic Con.
The six-episode series, starring Peter Claffe as the knight and Dexter Sol Ansell as his little guardian, is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s ‘Tales of Dunk &Egg’ and is set a century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’.

Martin was one of the highlights this Thursday at Comic Con, in a panel shared with director Ira Parker and the actors of the series in which they revealed details about this story that takes place in the world of Westeros and focuses on the knight Ser Duncan the Tall.
They hope to repeat the success of ‘Game of Thrones’.
The author revealed that his inspiration for the series came from a comment by a critic who complained that “nobody writes about the common people”, in allusion to all the kings and nobles that make up the saga, and he said he identified himself precisely with these “common people”.
“I’m from Bayonne, New Jersey (…). My father was a longshoreman, worked on the docks, and my mother worked for Maidenform (lingerie brand),” she said, recalling that she grew up in a public housing project and went to public school, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series description, released today by HBO, notes that “two unlikely heroes roam Weesteros: a young and innocent but brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg.”
“Set in a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies and dangerous exploits await these unlikely and incomparable friends,” he adds, Agencia EFE reported.
