The security flaw that nearly “decapitated” the Trump administration in the wake of the Cole Allen attack

¿Negligencia o exceso de confianza?

What happened Saturday at the Hilton Hotel in Washington was not just a scare; it was a red alert that has rattled national security protocols.

After the Cole Tomas Allen attempted attack, the question on everyone’s lips is: How is it possible that the president, the vice president and almost the entire cabinet were in the same room with no real contingency plan?

National security and the attack on Trump

Figures such as Congressman Ritchie Torres have been up in arms.

According to Torres, the event lacked the necessary security checks for a venue hosting Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, JD Vance and key players such as Marco Rubio, Robert Kennedy Jr. and even FBI Director Kash Patel.

“No security check was required to gain access to an event where the entire line of succession was present,” Torres criticized, suggesting that the administration forgot the most basic rules of political survival.

The “Designated Survivor” that was ignored

Normally, at events such as the State of the Union Address, a “designated survivor” is chosen who stays in a secret bunker in case something happens.

But at the correspondents’ dinner, it seems everyone wanted to go to the party!

Congressman Michael McCaul was clear: the Secret Service should prohibit the president and vice president from ever being together again at such an event.

It was putting all your eggs in one basket!

Budget or boycott?

While some blame the Secret Service, others like James Comer point to the partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.

James Comer claims that budget shortfalls – caused by the Democratic boycott against Trump’s immigration policies – are leaving dangerous holes in the president’s protection.

Fact: Despite the panic, Acting U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche assured that Trump is not afraid and plans to hold the event again in as little as a month.

What about you Onnda, do you think it is an exaggeration by politicians or that the stability of the country was really risked too much for a gala dinner?
