The Leagues Cup 2025 format pits 18 Liga MX teams against 18 MLS teams.
There are no ties: if there is a tie after 90 minutes, there is a penalty shootout for an additional point.
The top four from each league advance to the quarterfinals, where they face each other in a crossover format.
In addition to the title and the US$2 million for the champion, the top teams get tickets to the Concacaf Champions Cup 2026, on the road to the FIFA Club World Cup 2029.
