The first duel, held on April 2 in California, was a close encounter, without much offensive excitement. Both teams prioritized caution, aware that the ticket to the semifinals would be played in Monterrey, where the Tigres have a proven strength with the support of one of the most passionate fans in Mexico.

As well as the good momentum of players such as Ozziel Herrera and Argentine Nicolás Ibáñez, both with two goals in the tournament.

In addition, the Brazilian Joaquim and the creative Juan Brunetta have shown consistency in attack, although without the necessary forcefulness in the first match.

The Los Angeles Galaxy face this crucial match against Tigres without their two main stars: Riqui Puig (Spain) and Marco Reus (Germany), both out due to injury.

The Californian team will rely on the youth of American Isaiah Parente and the skill of Brazilians Gabriel Pec and Matheus Nascimento to break down the feline defense.

Galaxy has performed well in MLS, but their challenge will be twofold:

Overcoming the altitude, the atmosphere of the “Volcan” and the pressure of a Mexican team accustomed to these instances.

The team that advances will face the winner of the capital city derby between América and Cruz Azul in the semifinals, a series that is also tied without goals and will be decided on the same day.
