U.S. President Donald Trump was booed this Sunday, November 9, during the game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions of the NFL.
Trump arrived at Northwest Stadium located on the outskirts of the capital, two minutes before halftime, with 10-22 on the scoreboard.

The president, invited to the game by businessman Josh Harris, owner of the Commanders, appeared on the screens accompanied by the president of Congress, Mike Johnson, among others.
Trump was mostly booed, although there was also some applause.
Minutes earlier, his plane, Air Force One, flying from Florida to Washington, had made a low-level flight over the stadium, which was also greeted with boos.
“Was it the best flyover in history? No one has ever done one like it. They are the best pilots in the world. They say whoever flies Air Force One is the best, and that’s just what we just saw. It was incredible,” Trump said after landing.
During the break, Trump participated in a military ceremony and was booed for the third time.
Trump’s presence at the game coincides with information revealed by ESPN that the president wants the new stadium the Commanders are building in Washington to be named after him.
In his second term, Trump has been a regular at sporting events, something that is unusual among U.S. presidents.
Trump is especially unpopular in the Washington area, which votes overwhelmingly Democratic and has been hit by massive government layoffs and the ongoing administrative shutdown that has now dragged on for more than a month.

U.S. President Donald Trump wants the new stadium the NFL’s Washington Commanders are building in the federal capital to be named after him, ESPN reported.
The new $3.7 billion stadium is being built on the ruins of Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, which was home to the Commanders (then known as the Redskins) from 1961 to 1996.
Multiple sources consulted by ESPN point to the fact that Trump wants this new stadium, which will open in 2030, to bear his name.
Trump was involved in the negotiations for the construction of the stadium, as the land is federally owned.
“It would be a beautiful name, since it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible,” White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told ESPN.
A senior White House official added to ESPN that “it’s what the president wants, and it will probably happen.”
The stadium’s name, like that of most such venues in the United States, will likely be tied to a sponsorship agreement with a company, although it could still coexist with a name honoring a personality.
In addition to the team, also involved in the decision on the name of the new stadium is the District of Columbia, which is contributing $1 billion of the $3.7 billion budgeted for its construction, and which is controlled by Democrats.
So will the National Park Service, the federal agency that owns the land and that by 2030 will be in the hands of a new administration, as Trump’s term ends in 2028.
