A video circulating on social networks shows Cuban actor William Levy, handcuffed and dressed in prison uniform, appearing before a judge in a South Florida court.
The recording has caused commotion among his followers and international media, after the charges against him for public intoxication and trespassing on occupied private property became known.
Why was William Levy arrested?

The 44-year-old actor, known for his roles in soap operas such as Café con aroma de mujer and Sortilegio, was arrested on Monday, April 14, following an altercation at an Argentine restaurant in Weston.
According to police reports and media outlets such as El País and CNN en Español, Levy allegedly offered drinks to more than 100 people, refused to pay the bill, and pushed another customer.
He subsequently returned to the scene to retrieve a forgotten phone, at which point he was detained by the authorities.
Video in court generates impact in networks

The video, recorded during the bail hearing, shows Levy being presented before the judge with visible handcuffs and a serious look on his face as he listens to the arraignment.
The court set bail at $250 for each of the two charges: disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol and trespassing on occupied property.
A restraining order was also issued prohibiting him from returning to the premises of the incident.
The clip was shared on several platforms and has generated hundreds of thousands of views in less than 24 hours.
Many fans expressed surprise and concern about the direction of the actor’s career, while others questioned the media’s handling of the incident.
Legal consequences and personal background

Both charges are considered misdemeanors in Florida, but could carry penalties of up to 60 days in jail for disorderly intoxication and up to one year for trespassing, depending on the court’s ruling.
This incident occurs at a delicate moment for Levy, who in 2024 confirmed his separation from actress Elizabeth Gutierrez, mother of his two children, after a relationship of more than two decades.
In the same year, a complaint was also reported for alleged assault against his daughter, although no charges were filed.
So far, neither William Levy nor his legal team have made public statements about the case. The actor remains at liberty while he awaits a new court appearance in the coming weeks.
