Rapper Sean Combs, known as Diddy, will serve his sentence and be released from prison in May 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

The BOP updated today on its website the artist’s file, where it noted that the exact date on which he will be able to leave prison is May 8, 2028.

Combs was sentenced in early October to 50 months in prison – about four years and two months – for two federal counts of transportation for prostitution, as well as a $500,000 fine.

He was also sentenced to five years of supervised release.

The rapper has already served a year in prison, as in September 2024 he was arrested and taken to the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), where he is still being held.

However, Combs has asked U.S. President Donald Trump to pardon him, as confirmed by the president himself, although he did not indicate whether he will indeed pardon him or not.

Beyond this, his lawyers have communicated their intention to appeal the sentence set by the judge in the case, Arun Subramanian.

The 55-year-old musician’s conviction came after a two-month trial in which he was acquitted of the most serious crimes he faced, sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have carried a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution called 34 witnesses, including two of the rapper’s ex-girlfriends, Cassie Ventura and a woman who testified under the generic pseudonym Jane.

Both accused him of forcing them to participate in sex marathons with prostitutes, called “freak offs” by Combs himself, as well as physically and sexually assaulting them, reported Agencia EFE.
