U.S. President Donald Trump assured Sunday that every American, with the exception of those with the highest incomes, will receive a bonus of “at least $2,000” thanks to the tariffs.

“The people who are against tariffs are fools! We are now the richest and most respected country in the world, with almost no inflation and record stock market prices,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

According to the president, 401k pension plans “are at an all-time high,” the debt will soon begin to be paid off thanks to the proceeds from the levies, and there is “record investment in the U.S., with plants and factories springing up everywhere.”

“A dividend of at least $2,000 per person (not including high-income earners!) will be paid to everyone,” the Republican added.

Trump defended his trade policy a few days after the U.S. Supreme Court was skeptical about the legality of the tariffs he has imposed on virtually every territory in the world.

The high court analyzed whether an economic powers act in international emergencies is sufficient for the president to impose these levies on other countries without needing the backing of Congress, as the U.S. Administration advocates.

Or if it needs the backing of the legislature, to whom the Constitution grants the power, outside of this law, to decide on taxes.

“The U.S. President has permission (and the full approval of Congress!) to stop all trade with a foreign country (which is far more onerous than a tariff!), and license a foreign country, but he does not have permission to impose a simple tariff on a foreign country, even on national security grounds. That is NOT what our great founders had in mind! This whole thing is ridiculous!” he denounced in another message.

The president insisted that companies are coming “en masse” to the country thanks to the tariffs.

“Hasn’t the U.S. Supreme Court been informed? What the hell is going on?” he asked.
