Ahead of Thanksgiving Day 2025, supermarket chain Kroger announced the return of its “Freshgiving” package, an offer that allows the purchase of a complete dinner for 10 people for approximately $4.75 per person. The company, which operates nearly 2,800 stores in the United States, presented this initiative as part of its annual commitment to offer affordable alternatives during one of the most important times for families in the country.

The package is designed to fully cover the traditional dinner without customers having to spend extra time comparing prices or shopping for items separately. For thousands of U.S. Hispanic households, especially those looking to stretch their budget in November, these offers represent relief from the rising cost of living between 2023 and 2025.

What is included in the Freshgiving 2025 package?

The offer is notable for incorporating a 14- to 16-pound Kroger frozen whole turkey, enough for a large family table or to secure leftovers, which is very common during this holiday season.

In addition, Kroger includes all the classic side dishes that are usually part of the traditional American menu, according to local channel 12News:

Kroger frozen whole turkey (14-16 lbs.)

Together, these products make it possible to prepare everything from traditional green bean casserole to mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, homemade stuffing and classic pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

More seasonal specials available

In addition to the main package, Kroger announced additional deals on popular ingredients for Thanksgiving.

These promotions seek to support families who prefer to customize their dinner or add extra dishes to their holiday menu. Among the most prominent discounts are:

Stove Top Stuffing – $1.77

Kroger Broth (32 oz.) – $0.99

Heinz Gravy – 2 for $4

Cool Whip – 2 for $4

Kroger Sweet Jewel Yams (29 oz.) – 2 for $6

These offers are available at participating stores and represent an affordable option for those looking to supplement their dining experience without adding too much to their overall spending.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Kroger

The Freshgiving initiative joins offers from other retailers such as Lidl, Walmart and Aldi, which in recent years have launched inexpensive Thanksgiving packages due to the growth in demand for ready-made or semi-prepared meals.

Competition among chains has directly benefited consumers, especially in diverse communities where the celebration mixes American traditions with Latin flavors.

For millions of Latinos, Thanksgiving is not only about food, but about family togetherness.

However, the cost of preparing a complete dinner can easily exceed $60 or $80 if the ingredients are purchased without promotions.

Offers like Kroger’s allow you to keep the celebration alive and at the same time keep the household budget in check, which is key for working families.

Mary Ellen Adcock, executive vice president of Kroger, summed it up this way:

Creemos que las familias merecen una comida de Thanksgiving económica y deliciosa. Este año queremos asegurar calidad al mejor valor posible
