A bald Woody and feisty Buzz Lightyear will reunite to take on Lilypad, a smart tablet that threatens to dominate children’s lives, a new ‘Toy Story 5’ trailer revealed Thursday shows.
The Pixar teaser shows the return of famed cowboy Woody after his decision to leave the toy gang and start helping lost toys at the end of 2019’s ‘Toy Story 4.

The first teaser also shows legendary characters from the franchise such as Jessie, Forky, Slinky Dog, Hamm or Rex, who will help defend the children from this technological invasion.
The film will hit theaters on June 19, seven years after its last installment, and will feature Tom Hanks as the voice of Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, Tony Hale as Forky, and Greta Lee as the menacing Lilypad.
New talent is also added, including Craig Robinson as Atlas, a cheerful toy hippo with GPS; Shelby Rabara as Snappy, a toy with a camera; and Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase, a technology-fearing toy.

‘Toy Story 5’ is directed by Andrew Stanton (‘Finding Nemo’), co-directed by Kenna Harris (‘Ciao Alberto’) and produced by Lindsey Collins (‘Turning Red’), while the original soundtrack will once again be provided by Randy Newman.
In total, the franchise, whose first installment premiered in 1995, has grossed US$3.3 billion at the worldwide box office, reported Agencia EFE.
