Spanish singer Rosalia will receive the ‘Woman of the Year’ award at the Billboard Latin Women in Music 2026 ceremony to be held Thursday in Miami, Telemundo and Billboard announced Monday.

Rosalía will receive the award for being “one of the most influential voices of her generation” and because “she has challenged the boundaries of Spanish-language music by fusing tradition and the avant-garde with an innovative artistic vision that has captivated audiences around the world,” the organizers said in a statement.

Billboard noted that the Spaniard’s most recent album, ‘LUX’, debuted in November at the top of the Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover and World Albums charts, as well as in fourth place on the Billboard 200, her first time in the top 10 overall.

“Her most recent album reaffirms her status as a cultural force, generating global conversation and cementing her reputation as a creative and visionary leader,” they stated.

The 33-year-old artist has reaffirmed “her global impact” on the Billboard charts, where she has achieved the top spot seven times in ‘Latin Airplay’, and has entered the top 10 nine times in ‘Hot Latin Songs’, in addition to accumulating more than 60 combined entries in ‘Billboard Global’, the release added.

But, “beyond the charts”, the organizers emphasized that “his influence transcends music”, as he has also impacted visual arts, fashion and art direction.

“To recognize her as ‘Woman of the Year’ is to celebrate a trajectory of artistic excellence, as well as her cultural impact and the new possibilities she continues to open up for women in music,” they concluded.
