Authorities of the State of Mexico confirmed that the people injured in the armed attack that took place this Monday in the archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, which left two dead, are four foreign tourists: two Colombian, one Canadian and one Russian.
The Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico, Cristóbal Castañeda, informed in an interview with Foro TV that the situation “is already under control” and detailed the nationality of four of the wounded after the shooting at the Pyramid of the Moon, although he did not specify the seriousness of their condition.

On Monday morning, a gunman opened fire on visitors to one of Mexico’s most emblematic archaeological sites.
Located just 50 kilometers from Mexico City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Leaving a Canadian tourist lifeless and then taking her own life.
According to the most recent official balance, of the six people injured in this attack in Teotihuacán, four were wounded by gunshot wounds and two by falls.
The health condition of the injured is unknown at this time.
However, in an interview with N+, Marco Antonio Franco Hernandez, deputy national relief coordinator of the Mexican Red Cross, reported that one of the injured is in critical condition.
He was transported by helicopter to a high specialty hospital.

Videos posted on social networks show moments of confusion and terror among visitors.
Several of them foreigners, when detonations are heard and some people begin to hurriedly leave the area.

The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, condemned this attack in Teotihuacan.
She expressed his solidarity with the victims and noted that his government is in contact with the Canadian embassy, while instructing a thorough investigation of the case.
