Australian actress Cate Blanchett becomes a global ambassador for Japanese brand Uniqlo with a style message that pushes clothing for everyday life.
“I admire Uniqlo’s ambition to improve life through the ‘lifewear’ philosophy, clothes with timeless design, simple, quality, accessible and that last over time,” the actress said Thursday in a press release.
“I am excited to help drive some of the most important values of this philosophy: supporting new generations, giving visibility and response to the global refugee crisis, contributing to communities and finding real ways to move towards a more just world,” he added.

Blanchett is one of the most recognized actresses and producers in the world for her performances in ‘Tár’, ‘Carol’ or ‘The Aviator’, among many others, as well as for her outstanding work on Broadway and in some of the most prestigious theaters in the world.
In the fashion world, she is considered a true style icon and a regular figure on international best-dressed lists.
“Cate Blanchett is one of the most outstanding actresses of her generation, both on stage and screen. However, our admiration goes beyond her artistic side: her passion and commitment have made her a role model for women, a mentor for young talents in film and theater, and a strong advocate for humanitarian and environmental causes,” said Tadashi Yanai, founder of Uniqlo, in a press release on Thursday.
“With this collaboration, we will work together to seek and drive a real and positive impact on society,” he added, Agencia EFE reported.
