After a year and a half away from Despierta America, the chef and host Yisus is ready to return to the small screen with a challenge completely different from what he has done in his career.
The Spaniard has been confirmed as one of the participants of Claw vs. Venom: World Warriors TelevisaUnivision’s new show, which will bring together various personalities and athletes in an intense physical competition.
The program will debut live on June 2 on UniMas and will have daily broadcasts Monday through Friday, as well as special galas on Sundays on Univision. It will also be available on the ViX platform, which will allow the audience to closely follow each of the tests and challenges.
Chef Yisus talks about his new project on TV

In an interview with People en Español, Yisus explained that accepting the invitation to participate in the reality show was a decision he made for several reasons. The first was his love for competition and personal challenges.
The driver recalled that he had already lived a similar experience when he participated in the show Mira quién bailaa program in which he entered with no previous experience and ended up winning. That background gave him confidence to return to face a completely different format.
However, there was a much more personal reason that convinced him. The name of the reality show reminded him of his mother, who passed away after several years of fighting cancer. As he explained, within his family she was always called “the warrior” because of the strength with which she faced the disease.
For Yisus, the word “warriors” has a very special emotional charge and he feels there is a symbolic connection between this new project and the memory of his mother.
Although the physical challenge will be important, the driver confessed that the most complicated part will be staying away from his daughters for several months.
Unlike other reality shows that require total isolation of the participants, this program will allow some contact with the outside world. Even so, Yisus recognizes that it will not be easy to stay away from the little ones, especially because they are going through a stage of growth that he enjoys intensely.
The chef explained that he is used to sharing much of his time with them and is already arranging visits during the summer to reduce the distance while the competition is taking place.
Will compete against top athletes

Another factor that generates excitement and nervousness is the level of the participants. Yisus recognizes that many of his teammates have a superior physical preparation, as several are former professional athletes, trainers or people who dedicate a large part of their lives to exercise.
Although the driver maintains an active routine and enjoys training, he admits that his responsibilities as a father and chef take up a good part of his day. Therefore, he considers that facing competitors with highly athletic profiles will be one of the biggest challenges of this adventure.
In addition, she pointed out that five years have passed since her experience in Mira quién baila, time in which the body changes and loses some of the flexibility and resistance it had before.
With enthusiasm and high expectations, Yisus is ready to prove that he can once again surpass his own limits. The presenter sees this reality show as an opportunity to reinvent himself in front of the public and explore a different side of his personality.
Now, the chef is preparing to face demanding tests, live with high-level participants and put his physical and mental capacity to the test. All this while trying to balance the nostalgia of being away from his family with the excitement of embarking on one of the most important experiences of his recent television career.
