This Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025, a Cleveland Independent School District (Cleveland ISD) school bus overturned while en route to its school routes. The incident occurred at FM 1010 and Plum Grove Road, south of Cleveland, Texas, and mobilized multiple local emergency crews.
According to the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management, the bus was carrying 58 people when the accident occurred, mostly students from Cleveland High School (CHS) and the Ninth Grade Center (C9). All were immediately and safely evacuated. However, 16 students were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, mainly bumps and bruises, as a precautionary measure.
