The Dallas Cowboys announced Tuesday the dismissal of Trevon Diggs, a cornerback who was with the team for six seasons.
“I am healthy and motivated, although I will miss my time in Dallas I am ready for a team that needs me to play in these ‘playoffs,'” the defensive back said via NFL Network.

Trevon Diggs is 27 years old. He came to the Lone Star team drafted in the second round of the 2020 Draft, has since been selected to the Pro Bowl twice, received an All-Pro designation and was the interception leader in the 2021 season.
His performances earned him a five-year, $97 million contract extension in 2023.
After the deal the cornerback’s numbers crumbled due to injuries and personal problems.
He tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in training during the 2023 campaign, in which he played only two games.
Last year Trevon Diggs missed six games with an injury that required a chondral graft in the same knee.
This season he was out for eight games due to a right knee problem.
In addition, he suffered a concussion in a domestic accident which, he revealed, occurred when he wanted to install a support for a television screen.
The player has been reluctant to follow the Cowboys’ discipline in each of the rehabs for his knee problems.
Prior to this season, Trevon Diggs was sanctioned with a $500,000 pay cut as he missed 84 percent of the team’s preseason program, as he preferred to pursue his rehabilitation on a personal, unsupervised basis.
In the eight games he played this season, Diggs racked up 27 tackles and two pressures; it was his first season without an interception.
Their poor performance contributed to the Cowboys, already eliminated from the playoffs, having the worst defense against the pass among the 32 NFL teams.
This with an average of 253.6 yards through the air allowed per game, as well as the highest number of points allowed, 477 on the year, and 29.8 points per contest.
