Recent Champions League winner Willian Pacho, tournament finalist Piero Hincapié and the national team’s all-time leading scorer, Enner Valencia, head the final list of 26 players who will play for Ecuador in the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The names were announced by the Guayaquil singer-songwriter Héctor Napolitano in a video published this Sunday by the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation (FEF) on its official channels.

Another of the key players in the team coached by Argentine Sebastián Beccacece will be midfielder Moisés Caicedo.
He lived months of uncertainty after his expulsion in the last date of the qualifiers and the suspension of a match.
But he finally obtained FIFA’s permission to play for Ecuador from the 2026 World Cup opener against Ivory Coast.
Ecuador’s goal will be to record the best performance in its history at a World Cup.
This after reaching the round of 16 at Germany 2006.
In their other World Cup participations, in Korea and Japan 2002, Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022, they were eliminated in the group stage.
Betting on their defense and Enner Valencia

The Tricolor’s main strength will be the defensive solidity that allowed it to finish the last qualifiers with the best defense in South America.
They conceded just five goals in 18 games.
The Ecuadorians are also pinning much of their hopes on their all-time leading scorer, Enner Valencia.
Scorer of 49 goals in 105 appearances for the national team.
The striker, known as ‘Superman’, has six goals in his World Cup appearances.
Ecuador is part of Group E along with Germany, Ivory Coast and Curacao in the 2026 World Cup.
They will make their debut on June 14 against Côte d’Ivoire, then face Curaçao and close the group stage against Germany.
They're aming for the best performance in their history
