The Argentine singer Fito Paez and the Mexican band Zoé reaffirmed their love for Bogota this Sunday at the closing of the fourth edition of the Cordillera Festival, where they were accompanied by a crowd that was completely devoted to their music despite the rain.

Both the Argentine and the Mexicans performed on the main stage of the festival, held at the Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota, which for two days vindicated the Ibero-American sounds.

Also taking the stage this Sunday were the Argentinean groups Serú Girán and Los Auténticos Decadentes; the Spanish band Duncan Dhu, and the Mexican group Belanova.

Fito Paez knew he had the central show of the festival in his hands and he did not disappoint his audience, who waited for him for a year after he had to cancel his participation in the 2024 edition due to a home accident that happened a few weeks before the presentation.

With the rain as a companion, the Argentinean began the show with a powerful version of ‘El amor después del amor’ that resounded throughout the park thanks to the crowd, who then joined his voice to the artist in ’11 y 6′.

Paez, dressed in a red suit and yellow shoes, brought to Bogota a repertoire full of nostalgia and classics such as ‘Llueve sobre mojado’, in which he remembered the Spanish Joaquin Sabina and pointed out the downpour that was falling at that time in the Colombian capital.

“Oe, oe, oe, oe, oe, Fito, Fito,” shouted the audience to celebrate the singer, who pleased his followers with hits such as ‘La rueda mágica’, ‘Un vestido y un amor’, ‘Al lado del camino’, ‘Circo Beat’ or ‘Brillante sobre el mic’, in which cell phone flashlights illuminated the night.

The final part of the concert came with ‘Ciudad de pobres corazones’, which shook the park with its power; ‘A rodar mi vida’, which made the audience raise their hands; ‘Mariposa tecknicolor’, sung in one voice with the crowd, and with ‘Y dale alegría a mi corazón’, which culminated with an emotional and uncoordinated acapela song with the audience.

The success of Fito Páez and Zoé

“Thank you for so much love through so much time, through music and words (…) thank you Bogotá again, thank you Colombia, thank you Cordillera Festival”, concluded Fito Paez.

For their part, Zoé took the stage and began their show with ‘Memo Rex’, a classic rocker that warmed up the audience on a cold night in which the band made a tour of their three-decade career.

“We are very happy to be here after a long time since we visited them as Zoé,” said the group’s vocalist and leader, León Larregui.

In the show, in which the singer dealt with some minor sound problems, the Mexican group performed songs like ‘No me destruyas’, ‘Vía Láctea’ or ‘Veneno’, with which he connected with the crowd.

Attendees also raised their cell phones when ‘Arrullo de estrellas’ and ‘Labios rotos’ were played, which revalidated Zoé’s connection with the Bogota audience.

The concert at the Cordillera Festival was also an opportunity for the band to perform live for the first time their two most recent singles, ‘Campo de fuerza’ and ‘Rexsexex’.

The farewell to the stage came with the ballad ‘Luna’ and the hit ‘Soñé’, which closed the tour of just over an hour of Larregui’s group through its musical history.

The first day, held on Saturday, was attended by more than 42,000 people, reported Agencia EFE, who enjoyed performances by Panamanian Rubén Blades, Colombian Carlos Vives, Spain’s Miguel Bosé, Mexico’s Silvana Estrada and Argentina’s Paulo Londra, among others.
