Legendary Band Intocable Earns Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The band that united the Norteño and the Texano with Mexican-American pride

The iconic group Intocable, originally from Zapata, Texas, and considered one of the pillars of regional Mexican music in the United States, celebrated this week the announcement that it will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the entertainment industry worldwide.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed that Intocable is part of the Class of 2026, a list that includes 35 prominent figures in music, film, television and sports. The announcement was received with excitement by the members of the group, led by Ricky Muñoz (vocalist and accordionist) and René Martínez (drummer and co-founder), who for more than three decades have been consolidating a unique musical proposal that has connected with millions of fans on both sides of the border.

Since its formation in 1994, Intocable has been recognized for fusing traditional rhythms such as norteño, Texan and romantic ballads with modern lyrics that address themes such as love, heartbreak, family and hope.

This sonic and lyrical mix has been key to their popularity, especially among the Hispanic community in the U.S., where they have sold millions of records and sold out venues such as the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York and the Toyota Center in Houston.

The group has released 15 studio albums, with multiple gold, platinum and diamond certifications in both the U.S. and Latin America.

His influence has been recognized with Grammy, Latin Grammy, Premios Lo Nuestro and Billboard Latin Music Awards, among others.

In an official statement, Intocable said that the star in Hollywood “not only represents a recognition of their musical career, but of the cultural role that the band has played for Latinos in the United States”.

“We are proudly Mexican-American and we carry our identity in every chord, in every lyric, in every performance,” said Ricky Muñoz.

The group also highlighted its commitment to the musical heritage of the communities of South Texas and Northern Mexico, and assured that it will continue to promote the Texan and Norteño styles to new generations of listeners.

“Grupo Intocable is not just a band. They are cultural ambassadors. Their songs speak of love, loss, family and hope, universal themes that have cemented their place in the history of Latin music,” adds the statement.

Untouchable in NASCAR and new horizons

As part of his presence in national events, Ricky Muñoz is an Honorary Official at the NASCAR Cup Series Chicago Street Race on July 6 at Grant Park.

Their participation reflects the band‘s growing reach, which has transcended the musical world to become part of broader cultural expressions within U.S. society.

For millions of Latinos in the U.S., Intocable’s success symbolizes more than artistic achievement: it represents pride, identity and perseverance.
