PSG captain Brazilian Marquinhos said Friday that “once you taste what it means to win the Champions League, you want to live it again,” on the eve of his side’s second final against Arsenal in Budapest.
“I still remember the excitement in the locker room when we won. We still have that hunger to win, that motivation. The fans have come all the way here by car, my father too. That gives us even more motivation,” said the defender at the press conference ahead of Saturday’s final.
PSG maintains champion’s hunger
“Motivation doesn’t change even if you’ve lived it.”
“They are unforgettable matches. We have worked the same as last year, as if we were not champions.”
“I’m having the same emotions as last year,” he commented.
Marquinhos was full of praise for his coach, Luis Enrique Martinez:
“Since he arrived he has applied his philosophy and it has worked. What he says is followed through and that has convinced the group.”
“It’s not just his tactics, it’s his ability to motivate you. He is a complete coach. I hope we continue with him for many years at PSG.”

No plans to reserve for the World Cup
“He applies a mobility on the field that makes us unpredictable,” he added.
Marquinhos said that playing in a Champions League final is “something historic that many try for their entire career and don’t achieve.”
And he assured that it would make no sense not to play it at 100 percent thinking about the World Cup.
“Although the World Cup is important, this final is also important, you have to experience both.”
“If you lift your foot a little bit, if you’re not 100 percent, you’re in more danger. You have to give it your all.
