After a 2025 dominated by children’s films, 2026 is expected to see the big return of superhero films – the new ‘Avengers’, ‘SpiderMan’ or ‘Supergirl’ – as well as the work of established filmmakers such as Christopher Nolan, Emerald Fennell, Greta Gerwig, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Pedro Almodóvar or Steven Spielberg.
Not to mention the new installments of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, ‘Dune’ or ‘Toy Story’ and the jump to the cinema of ‘Mandalorian and Grogu’. These are the 15 most anticipated films of 2026:
The Odyssey
One of the most anticipated titles is the adaptation of ‘The Odyssey’ by Christopher Nolan and with Matt Damon as Odysseus in a spectacular cast that also includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron. We will have to wait until July 17 to see this film that has been shot entirely with Imax cameras (the first to do so).
The Devil Wears Prada 2
Ever since it was announced that there would be a sequel to the 2006 film that launched Anne Hathaway to stardom, fans have been going crazy. Every look of Hathaway and Meryl Streep on the set has been scrutinized, and in addition to Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, the cast has been joined by new faces such as Sydney Sweeney and Kenneth Branagh. Avengers: Doomsday
Little is known about the new Avengers installment, beyond the endless list of names set to appear and the fact that it won’t be released until Dec. 18. Chris Evans – recalled as Captain America in ‘Endgame’ – is the latest name to join such fellows as Robert Downey Jr. (albeit as the baddie), Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal or Florence Pugh.
Mandalorian and Grogu
The hit series ‘The Mandalorian’, starring Pedro Pascal, will jump to the big screen with the Mandalorian and Grogu as the protagonists of a story of the ‘Star Wars’ saga in which Baby Yoda becomes more independent. Sigourney Weaver or Jeremy Allen White (as Rotta the Hutt, son of Jaba the Hutt) join a film scheduled for May 2026.
‘Wuthering Heights’.
British Emerald Fennell dazzled with the series ‘Killing Eve’ and with the film ‘Promising Young Woman’. Now she is daring with a new adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’, one of the great stories of her country’s literature. And he has chosen as protagonists none other than Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie. Dune 3

Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew’.
Three years after sweeping with ‘Barbie’, director Greta Gerwig is directing a new version of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, which will serve as a prequel to the 2055 film and adapts ‘The Magician’s Nephew’, the sixth novel in C.S. Lewis’ literary saga. Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan and Emma Mackey star in a film that will hit theaters in November.
‘Toy Story 5’
On June 19, the fifth ‘Toy Story’ movie will be released, more than 30 years after the original, which dates back to 1995. This time the toys face technology, which threatens traditional games.
