NBA All-Star 2026 marks a turning point in the traditional All-Star Game. The league is taking advantage of the mid-season break to introduce a revamped format, designed to offer greater competitiveness and regain fan interest, especially in a key market such as Los Angeles, which will host the event at the Intuit Dome, the new home of the Clippers.
In addition to the classic contests – Dunk, Triples, Shootout, Rookie and Celebrity – the big attraction of the weekend will be the main match, which maintains the system introduced in 2025, but with important adjustments.
A three-team All-Star and mini-tournament

By 2026, the NBA All-Star Game will be contested with three teams:
USA Stars
USA Bars
World Team
The format will be a Round Robin, with 12-minute matches.
The two teams with the best record will advance to the final, which will also have the same duration.
In the event of a tie between the three teams, the difference in points will be the tie-breaking criterion.
The player with the best performance in the decisive game will receive the Kobe Bryant Award as the Most Valuable Player of the All-Star Game, one of the most prestigious individual awards of the event.
U.S. stars and international figures

The roster reflects the present and future of the NBA.
For the United States, names such as Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker and LeBron James stand out.
While Team World brings together some of the top international stars, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Luka Dončić and Victor Wembanyama, underscoring the global nature of the NBA.
LeBron’s absence as a starter for the first time in more than two decades also marks a symbolic moment of generational transition.
