American Grammy Award winner and international superstar Olivia Rodrigo will be the star of the Barça jersey for the May 10 derby against Real Madrid, as the azulgranas will wear a special version of the blaugrana jersey with the logo of one of the most recognized artists of her generation.
The American singer, with more than 55 million monthly listeners and nine songs in Spotify’s ‘Billions Club’, joins the list of big stars such as Drake, ROSALIA, The Rolling Stones, KAROL G, Coldplay, Travis Scott and Ed Sheeran who have lent their logo to the Barça shirt in a classic, thanks to the agreement between the azulgrana club and Spotify, the club’s sponsor.
“Seeing (the logo) ‘OR’ on the FC Barcelona jersey for El Clasico is something I still don’t know how to assimilate. It was incredible to see the shirt come to life and create a whole collection together with Spotify and Barça,” said the artist in a statement released by Spotify.
“Also, to be able to perform for the fans who have listened to me from the beginning, in a city like Barcelona, will be something very special. It is everything to me. I can’t wait to see them,” said Olivia Rodrigo about the concert she will give two days before the game.
Along with the shirt, Spotify and FC Barcelona have created a special collection with Olivia Rodrigo that combines Barça’s iconic identity with the artist’s visual universe, through exclusive garments and accessories.
Inspired by the club’s founding year, there will be 1899 limited edition T-shirts available for purchase, with prices ranging from €399.99 to €2,999.99 if signed by the artist.
The Spotify x Olivia Rodrigo x FC Barcelona collection of t-shirts and merchandise will be available for purchase at official Barça stores in Spain and online from 10:00 CEST this May 1.
Olivia Rodrigo’s logo will appear on the FC Barcelona jersey to be worn during the match against Real Madrid on May 10, while the women’s team will wear the jersey in their Liga F match against Levante on May 6, reported Agencia EFE.
