Once again the MLS is watching!

Álvaro Morales sentencia en Los Jefes: "Seguimos siendo su padre"

The narrative that MLS is about to overtake Mexican soccer received a bucket of cold water in the most recent episode of Los Jefes Deportes, a production of Nueva Network and QuéOnnda.

With the authority that comes from years of experience on the microphones, Alvaro Morales kicked off the program with a devastating editorial directed to the entire American Union, in which he assured that Liga MX is superior to MLS.

The myth of “Gringocentrism”.

Accompanied by analyst Juan Carlos Gabriel de Anda, the panel discussed what they called “gringocentrism”: the idea that because they have better stadiums and more money, U.S. soccer is superior.

“Mexico will once again be the Concacaf champion. In terms of money they are superior, but on the field they are still beating us,” said Morales.

De Anda went further, recalling a telling statistic: of the last 25 CONCACAF Champions League finals, Mexican clubs have won almost 97%.

“It’s like in martial arts: they are better in the form (the show), but in the cates (the actual game) they always get blown out,” the analyst compared.

Crisis in the FMF: The disaster of the concentrations

But it was not all celebration.

The panel, which also included legends such as Ricardo “El Tuca” Ferretti, Fernando Ceballos and Dionisio Estrada, analyzed the administrative chaos following the conflict between Chivas, Toluca and the Mexican National Team.

Tuca”, with his expert vision of more than 60 years in soccer, described the decision to take 12 players out of the group for a two-week training camp as absurd.

“The manager is an excellent businessman, but everyone sees his own benefit. The word is broken and soccer is the one who suffers,” said Ferretti.

Is Vasco Aguirre leaving?

Tensions rose when there was speculation about a possible resignation of Javier Aguirre.

In view of the audios in which “Vasco” claimed to have the unconditional support of the owners -a pact that was broken as soon as the league began-, the panel questioned who is really in charge.

According to the drivers, names such as Ivar Sisniega or Mikel Arriola are under scrutiny, and they do not rule out Duilio Davino ending up being the “scapegoat” of this crisis before the World Cup.

In closing, Fernando Ceballos revealed that the recent tribute to André-Pierre Gignac was not to the player’s liking.

“I know that Gignac didn’t like it at all and is upset; they are firing him when the team is still active,” commented the panel, lamenting the feline board’s lack of tact with their top idol.

Do you think MLS will ever be able to match Mexico’s soccer quality or will they always stay in “nice stadiums”?

The episode is now available on QuéOnnda TV’s YouTube channel, where you can also listen to other titles promoted by QuéOnnda and Nueva Network, such as Nueva Jugada.
