The Seattle Sounders made the Leagues Cup 2025 semifinals by defeating the LA Galaxy 2-0 at the Dignity Health Sports Park, securing their place in the final, where they will face Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
The title match promises to be historic and will take place this Sunday in Fort Lauderdale.
Superiority from the start
Brian Schmetzer’s team came out with a clear offensive approach and was rewarded early.
In the 7th minute, Argentine Pedro de la Vega opened the scoring with an accurate shot after a team move that exposed the Galaxy’s defensive weaknesses.

After VAR review, the red card was rescinded and the Seattle Sounders were able to finish the match with eleven players.

They slowed the pace with strategic changes and closed with authority a semifinal in which they were superior from start to finish.
The LA Galaxy, despite having internationally experienced players, were unable to impose their game and were left without the possibility of fighting for the title.
With this victory, the Seattle Sounders return to a stage of maximum international relevance and prepare to face Messi’s Inter Miami, who a day earlier overcame Orlando City with two goals from the Argentine.
