NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday opened up the possibility of Taylor Swift headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show to be held on February 8, 2026 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

“We would always love to have Taylor come on. She’s a very special talent and obviously would be welcome at any time, but I can’t say anything about it, just maybe,” the commissioner stated via ‘Today Show’.

Swift has been close to the NFL thanks to her romantic relationship with Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, to whom she announced her engagement last month.

When asked when it will be known if the singer of ‘Love Story’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Shake it Off’, among many other hits, will be in charge of next year’s NFL title game, Goodell only joked.

“I’m waiting for my friend Jay-Z. It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for all the smoke to come out,” the commissioner said in reference to Jay-Z and Roc Nation, his company through which he produces the Super Bowl halftime shows.

Taylor Swift’s presence at the Chiefs’ home games at Arrowhead Stadium has been constant since the singer began her relationship with Kelce in September 2023.

Swift was even present, to support the Chiefs and her boyfriend, at the two recent Super Bowls; in the LVIII edition she witnessed and celebrated Kansas City’s victory over San Francisco and last February, in the LIX edition, she watched the Chiefs defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to discussing the option of Swift performing at the next Super Bowl, Goodell again addressed the possibility of expanding the NFL’s regular-season schedule from 17 to 18 games, something that would force the Super Bowl to be pushed back from the first to the second week of February in the future.

“I think if the regular season was extended to 18 weeks, that would probably happen. I think 18 weeks would get you to that point and it would be a great decision,” Goodell said.

The NFL regular season currently lasts 18 weeks and teams play 17 games with one week off, something that would change to a 19-week, 18-game campaign, EFE reported.
