The thriller ‘The Housemaid,’ starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried and based on Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel of the same name, will get a big-screen sequel with the ‘Euphoria’ star returning as executive producer.
The American actress has already signed on to participate in the production of this film, titled ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ and based on the second novel in the saga created by McFadden, and at the moment it is unknown whether both Sweeney and Seyfried will return to their roles of Millie Calloway and Nina Wincherster, as well as its release date, Deadline reported Tuesday.

The Lionsgate studio will be in charge of the development of this project, whose first film adaptation has become a Christmas hit, with more than $75 million grossed in the United States and $133 million at the worldwide box office.
Directed and produced by Paul Feig, the film tells the story of Millie’s attempt to escape from her past as a young woman who takes a job as a live-in maid for the wealthy Nina and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). What begins as a dream job turns into something much more dangerous when she discovers that the household hides dark secrets, reported Agencia EFE.
