Donald Trump has just given the most unexpected explanation of his career. After ‘setting social networks on fire’ on Sunday with an image generated by Artificial Intelligence where he appeared represented as a figure similar to Jesus the healer, the president decided to face the press at the White House.

With his characteristic confidence, Trump defended the publication (which he has since deleted after the Catholic community’s scolding) with a phrase that is already a worldwide meme: “I did publish it, I thought it was me as a doctor. It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better”.

Trump further lashed out at the press, for echoing the controversy and said that “only the fake news media could make something like this up.”

The Republican published on Sunday on his social network Truth Social an image generated with artificial intelligence in which he appears represented as Jesus healer, a publication that he deleted after it generated the rejection of the Catholic community.

The U.S. leader also published an unpublished message in which he harshly criticized Pope Leo XIV for his opposition to the Iran war, which the U.S. and Israel launched on February 28.

Trump accused the pontiff of being “weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy.”

Leon XIV responded to him this Monday by assuring that he is not “afraid of the Trump Administration.”

“I will continue to raise my voice to build peace,” he told reporters aboard the papal plane.

Questioned by the press at the White House, Trump said he does not plan to apologize to the pope because he believes the pope has said things that “are wrong.”
