While the world continues to comment on his feud with Pope Leo XIV, President Donald Trump decided to relax the way he knows best: with a McDonald’s order straight to the White House. But what seemed like a simple Monday craving ended up being a $100 political show.

The star of the evening was Sharon Simmons, known on social media as “the grandmother of DoorDash”. With her uniform on, Sharon arrived at the doors of the Oval Office carrying two bags full of hamburgers and fries.

“This doesn’t look planned,” joked a very smiling Trump in front of the cameras. When asked by reporters if the White House was a good tipper, the president did not miss the opportunity: he took out a $100 bill and handed it to Sharon, who could not hide her joy.

U.S. President Donald Trump placed an order for the McDonald’s chain from the White House on Monday and tipped the delivery girl $100 as part of his campaign to eliminate tip taxes.

Sharon Simmons, the delivery woman, wearing a T-shirt with the message ‘the grandmother of Doordash’ (a popular U.S. home delivery company she works for), arrived at the presidential headquarters with two bags of the famous fast food chain that she handed to the president after knocking on the doors of the Oval Office.

“This doesn’t look planned,” Trump joked.

Asked if the White House was a good tipper, the president pulled out a $100 bill and handed it to the delivery girl.

“Yes,” she said.

“I want to thank you for the tip tax exemption. It has helped my family tremendously and I certainly appreciate it,” Simmons stated.

Trump, with the dealer at his side, gave reporters statements on the status of negotiations with Iran, which concluded Sunday without a formal agreement after more than 20 hours of talks.

The president has made his promise to eliminate tip taxes one of the emblems of his economic policy, an initiative launched in 2024 to win the support of service sector workers and which in 2025 resulted in a tax deduction included in a broad package passed by Congress.

This measure, already applicable to returns for the 2025 tax year, partially reduces the tax burden on tips for occupations that rely heavily on this income, although specialists remind that it does not represent a total or permanent exemption, but a temporary and limited relief depending on the level of income.

Trump is scheduled to visit Las Vegas on Thursday to discuss the measure.
