Apple TV+ has canceled the premiere of the series ‘The Savant’, in which Jessica Chastain plays an investigator focused on extremist movements, without giving a specific reason, although U.S. media suggest that it is due to the current situation over the murder of ultraconservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone ‘The Savant.’ We thank you for your understanding and look forward to releasing the series soon,” the platform said in a brief statement.

According to Variety, this controversial decision “provides another chilling example of how corporate giants fear the Trump administration and cave to pressure before it even exists,” suggesting that networks are increasingly cautious when it comes to politically sensitive material.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that the actual reason for the cancellation is tied to the series’ storyline and certain images that executives believed could be too provocative in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
The show reportedly contains intense scenes, including a sniper in action and a bomb attack on a government building, elements that raised concerns about timing and public reaction.
The premiere would be this Friday
