The silence and supposed “restraint” in Washington is over. This Thursday, Tom Homan, the White House’s top immigration advisor, confirmed in an explosive interview with Fox News that the engine of mass removals has been reignited.
With the immediate addition of 7,000 new ICE agents and another 3,000 in training, the Donald Trump administration is preparing to deliver on its signature promise: the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.
Farewell to “NICE”: The return of the hard line
Tom Homan: “We’re in the process of hiring 10,000 more agents. I think we’ve got about 7,000 onboard, we’ve got 3,000 in the pipeline through the academy…. I expect the [deportation] numbers to increase, while the border numbers continue to decrease.” pic.twitter.com/ZMn8A1PQBi

In recent weeks, the rank and file of Trumpism was restless.
After the tragedy in Minneapolis – where federal agents killed two U.S. citizens during a protest – the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, had tried to soften the image of the institution.
There were even jokes about changing ICE’s name to “NICE” (nice in English) to calm the waters.
However, Homan has made it clear that there will be little “nice” about it.
“I anticipate that deportation numbers will increase considerably,” the border czar said, confirming that the new elements are already being distributed in 40 states to speed up arrests, which currently hover around 1,200 per day.
Mass deportations are reactivated
FOX NEWS: How many deportations do we need to set this country’s population back to where it’s actually a country of legal citizens?
TOM HOMAN: Millions. I think there are well over 20 million illegal aliens in the country. We’re gonna do everything we can to arrest as many… pic.twitter.com/AbZfQVJ3qg

Although ICE successfully arrested more than half a million undocumented immigrants last year, Trump’s goal is still one million deportations per year.
To achieve this, Homan is betting on a change of strategy: while detentions at the physical border are decreasing thanks to the naval blockade and the walls, the “hunt” is shifting to the interior of the country.
This mobilization of thousands of agents is taking place in a climate of high social tension.
The ghost of Minneapolis is still present, but for the White House, the top priority is to demonstrate that immigration enforcement has not been watered down, but rather professionalized and strengthened with new blood.
What to expect in your city?
REPORTER: Are Dreamers with DACA status deportation targets when you’re talking about resuming mass deportations?
TOM HOMAN: If you’re in the country illegally, you got a problem. Amnesty is off the table. pic.twitter.com/C8t3twYzOT

With 10,000 additional agents (active and academy), the federal presence in sanctuary cities and workplaces will be more evident than ever.
Civil rights organizations have already activated their emergency protocols, as Homan’s warning is a logistical declaration of war against irregular immigration.
What about you Onnda, do you think the arrival of more ICE agents will bring safety or will it only bring more fear and tragedy to communities?
