Mexican Formula 1 driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez said that his goal next season in his return to Formula 1 will be to enjoy driving at the controls of the Cadillac, after assuring that his last years in the competition were complicated.
“I want to return to enjoy it because the last few years were difficult. I want to return to a Formula 1 that I enjoy and to be working with a team that has the same illusion as me,” said Checo Perez last night during a press conference prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers game, in which he performed the ceremonial kickoff.
Ready for his latest challenge

The 2023 F1 World Championship runner-up with Red Bull will return to Formula 1 racing next year after a year’s break.
He himself confessed that he saw it as his “last stint” in the competition, once he turned 35 years old.
Checo Pérez is, together with Finland’s Valtteri Bottas, one of the two starting drivers for Cadillac, the new team that will make its debut in the Grand Circus in 2026.
On this break, which came after a complicated last year in which the Mexican was far from the performance of his teammate Max Verstappen, the new Cadillac signing indicated that it has helped him to better understand Formula 1 and to know himself.
Confident of a strong debut
“I got a lot out of this year off the track. I understood a lot about the sport, I understood a lot about myself. When you’re in there, you’re focused on so many things that you don’t even realize it,” revealed Checo Perez.
And he stressed that Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1 is not just one more.
He considered that “in recent years we have never seen a team that has been so solid”.
He anticipated that this will allow them to be in the points “early in the season”, according to EFE.
