The sports world is in mourning after confirming the death of Chris Payton-Jones, former NFL and alternative professional league player, who passed away on April 11, 2026 at the age of 30 in a tragic car accident in Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s official report, the former defensive back was traveling the wrong way on an Alachua County roadway late Saturday night when his vehicle collided head-on with another car traveling in the right direction.
