The singer D4vd pleaded not guilty Monday to the charge of first-degree murder of a Hispanic minor, whose badly decomposed body was found last year in the trunk of a Tesla vehicle registered in his name.

The 21-year-old singer faces aggravated charges for the murder and mutilation of the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was 13 years old when she was reported missing in 2024 in Lake Elsinore (California), and whose body was found on September 8, one day after what would have been her 15th birthday.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman told a conference this morning that the rapper has been charged with murder and other charges that include “the most serious charges that can be brought” in this type of case, i.e., first-degree murder with special circumstances.

D4vd was arrested by Los Angeles police last Thursday at his West Hollywood home and has since been held without bail.

The case has generated a great deal of public attention since human remains were found in September in a Tesla linked to the musician, which had been parked for weeks on public roads before being towed to a Los Angeles impound lot without being reported stolen.

The singer has collaborated with musicians such as Kali Uchis, Laufey and 21 Savage and several of his songs have entered the Billboard charts, reported Agencia EFE.
