Puerto Rican reguetonero Yandel told EFE on Tuesday that the integration of a symphony orchestra in his presentations, as he did tonight in a special in his homeland, “refreshed” his career of more than two decades.
Symphonic music “refreshed my career again,” said Yandel prior to Amazon Music’s premiere of its live streaming series, ‘Amazon Music City Sessions,’ at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan.
According to Yandel, symphonic music gave him “a very good standard” in his career, most of which he marked as a duet with Wisin.
“The blessing came now, after so many years, and I’m going to squeeze the most out of it,” Yandel added.
The urban artist’s performance was streamed through the Amazon Music app, Prime Video and Twitch along with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, with whom he has performed on other occasions.
“I feel that my career exploded with the Symphony,” said Llandel Veguilla, the urban artist’s first name, who said that he is in the final stages of his next album, which will consist of 13 songs and with a “more mature” content because it will include symphonic music.
Some of the songs that Yandel performed in his presentation on Tuesday night were ‘Pam, pam, pam’, ‘Noche de sexo’, ‘Mírala bien’, ‘El Teléfono’, ‘Fantasma’.
Yandel began experimenting with symphonic music in April 2025, when he presented ‘Yandel Sinfónico’, the first album recorded live that completely fuses urban themes with a symphonic orchestra.
The genesis of the production arose after Yandel starred in a show in Miami (Florida, USA) in October 2024, in which he performed his songs with the Florida International University Symphony and Choral Orchestra.
Is he more successful with symphonic music? Yandel confesses

Such was the success of the presentation that Warner Music – Yandel’s record label – asked him in December 2024 to make a production and perform some of his best known songs with the aforementioned orchestra.
“Since I got to know the Symphony, the musical level, and I entered that world and experienced it, all my shows from now on will be with the Symphony because the musical level is the right one,” he said.
Thus, after his presentation this Tuesday, Yandel will offer a similar concert, as part of a tour, next Saturday at the Plaza de Cayey, the artist’s hometown and upbringing in the central-mountainous area of Puerto Rico.
Yandel will also perform in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Spain, London, Ecuador, as well as several states in the United States, and everywhere with their respective symphony orchestras.
“There are many young people who are participating in my show and it attracts their attention, because they have grown up with my music and being with me on stage is something that fills them with emotion and they show it. Doing it with the Symphony takes it to another level,” he emphasized.
Ramón Fragoso, US Latin market leader for Amazon Music, told EFE that Tuesday’s event was due to the impact of Latin music worldwide, to the point that it grew by 60% in Alexa, Amazon’s intelligent voice assistant.
Filmed in San Juan, the episodes will highlight the island’s talent and culture, marking a new phase of continued local investment by Amazon Music and reinforcing the momentum of its ongoing collaboration with Rimas Entertainment, the label that represents Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrión, among other artists, reported Agencia EFE.
