The FBI confirmed that the shooting that occurred this Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025, at an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) office in Dallas, Texas, had an ideological motive.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m., an individual opened fire at the facility, leaving one dead and several wounded, and then took his own life with a gunshot wound. Among the evidence recovered, authorities found unexploded shell casings with the inscription “ANTI-ICE”, which points to a premeditated attack against the immigration agency.

The victims were persons in immigration custody.

The Secretary of National Security assured that this is an act of political violence and that it will not go unpunished.

Federal agencies are working in coordination to identify possible accomplices and prevent further attacks.

This fact is not isolated.

Just two months earlier, on July 4, 2025, an armed group ambushed ICE agents at the Prairieland detention center in Alvarado, Texas.

On that occasion, one police officer was injured and 11 people were charged with attempted murder.

Among those arrested was Benjamin Hanil Song, considered one of the most wanted extremists.

Investigators stress that there has been an increase in attacks against immigration facilities in Texas, which has heightened security measures and generated concern in nearby communities.

Impact on the Hispanic community
For immigrants residing in the U.S., especially in the Dallas area, these events generate an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

Specialists recommend three key actions:

Local security: be vigilant in areas near federal offices.

Verified information: avoid rumors and go to official sources.

Legal rights and support: remember that victims or witnesses can access legal resources and community assistance.
