With tickets sold out in less than two hours, the ‘Órale Wey Fest: Mexa’, the festival to be held on December 6 at the El Campín Stadium in Bogota, with Grupo Firme as the main event, confirmed this Friday the strength of regional Mexican music in Colombia.
The festival will feature one of the most successful groups of the genre, which will offer a three-hour show with their most recognized hits such as ‘Ya supérame’, ‘Cada quien’ and ‘El amor no fue pa’ mí’.
Founded in 2014 in Tijuana (Baja California), Grupo Firme has established itself as one of the most influential regional Mexican bands thanks to its casual style and its closeness with the public.

Grupo Firme will be joined by other artists such as Gabito Ballesteros, Majo Aguilar, Edgardo Núñez, El Mimoso, Clave Especial, Calle 24, among others.
The sold out sign at El Campín, with a capacity of 39,000 people, confirms the influence of regional Mexican music in Colombia, where it has dominated radio and digital platforms in recent years with artists such as Xavi and Fuerza Regida topping the charts.
This trend has generated a cultural mix with Colombian popular music, visible in collaborations and styles shared with local figures such as popular music singer Pipe Bueno.
Recently, according to Agencia EFE, there has been an increase in the number of crossovers between artists from both countries, such as Grupo Frontera’s collaboration with Fuerza Regida in ‘Coqueta’ or Shakira’s collaboration with the same group in ‘El jefe’.
