LeBron James, leader of the Los Angeles Lakers, is still recovering from a sciatica problem and will miss the start of the NBA regular season.

LeBron had been living with a gluteal problem for weeks and, despite participating in the Lakers’ media day on Sept. 29, he is still unable to compete, according to the Los Angeles franchise.

Delays his return and unleashes criticism

At the media day press conference, LeBron James set a target of Oct. 21, the Lakers’ home opener against the Golden State Warriors, for his debut.

But his recovery process remains incomplete.

King James, 40, is not expected to make his debut before late October or early November.

In recent days LeBron James has been embroiled in criticism for hinting that he would make a big announcement about his future this Tuesday.

But it turned out to be an advertising campaign for a brand of alcoholic beverages.

LeBron is preparing to play his 23rd NBA season this year, something no one has ever accomplished in league history.

He debuted in 2003 with the Cleveland Cavaliers and has also played with the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.

Known as “King James,” he has won four NBA championships, four MVP awards and has been selected numerous times to the All-Star game.

His impact goes beyond basketball: he is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and social activist.

At 40 years of age, he continues to be a dominant figure, breaking records and leading the league in his 23rd season.
