The Liga MX Clausura 2026 enters its final stretch and the fight for the playoffs is more intense than ever, and after Matchday 14, the outlook is starting to become clearer, but there are still three games left that could completely change the overall standings.
For fans in the United States, where Liga MX maintains a huge fan base, this close of the tournament is key to anticipating the favorites for the title.
Chivas dominates, but cannot be confident
The Guadalajara remains the leader in the Liga MX general table with 31 points, despite having suffered a recent defeat.
The red-and-white team has already secured its place in the group stage, but its objective now is to close as super leader in order to gain an advantage in the final phase.
Behind them are Cruz Azul and Pachuca, both with 28 points, also already mathematically qualified.
These three teams have shown greater consistency and are the favorites at this stage of the tournament.
The fight for the top places
Pumas is in fourth place in the overall Liga MX table with 27 points.
They are closely followed by Toluca, which has the same number of points and goal difference.
But it remains down by fewer goals scored.
Further down, the table begins to tighten.
Tigres is in sixth place with 20 points, while América and Atlas momentarily complete the direct qualification places with 19 points each.
Teams pushing for the playoffs

León ( 19 points) and Tijuana (18) are on the prowl, with a real chance of making the playoffs if they can close strong.
FC Juárez and Necaxa also remain in the fight, both with 16 points, although they need to combine favorable results in the last few rounds.
On the other hand, teams such as Monterrey, Atlético de San Luis and Querétaro (all with 15 points) are experiencing a complicated tournament.
Especially Rayados, who have been one of the biggest disappointments of the Clausura 2026.

At the bottom, Puebla, Mazatlán and Santos Laguna no longer have a chance of qualifying.
