The Oklahoma City Thunder made it clear why they are one of the NBA’s most solid teams by completing a 4-0 sweep over the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2026 playoffs. The team closed out the series with a 131-122 away win, showing offensive dominance and consistency throughout the playoffs.

MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was once again the star with 31 points and 8 assists, leading a team that also had key contributions from Chet Holmgren (24 points and 12 rebounds), Ajay Mitchell (22 points) and Isaiah Hartenstein (18 units). The Thunder stood out for their efficiency, with 54% shooting from the field and an impressive 50% in three-pointers. With this result, the team advances to the Western Conference semifinals, where it could face the Los Angeles Lakers, who dominate their series against Houston.

In the Eastern Conference, the Orlando Magic have pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the 2026 NBA Playoffs.

This by placing 3-1 in the series against the Detroit Pistons, the best team of the regular season in their conference.

Orlando won again at home with a score of 94-88, despite having a low effectiveness in shooting (32.6%).

Desmond Bane led the way with 22 points, while Franz Wagner contributed 19 before leaving due to physical discomfort.

Paolo Banchero scored 18 points in a key game.

Detroit, which had a dominant campaign with a 60-22 record, has failed to translate that performance to the playoffs and paid dearly for its 20 turnovers.

Now, the Pistons must win their next game at home to stay alive.

In the West, the Denver Nuggets avoided elimination by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-113 in Game 5 of the series, cutting the deficit to 2-3.

The Denver team took advantage of Minnesota’s important absences.

Especially the injuries to Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, to dominate the game from start to finish.

Nikola Jokic shined again with a triple-double of 27 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists, demonstrating his full impact on the game.

Jamal Murray contributed 24 points and Spencer Jones added 20 in a solid collective performance.

Despite Julius Randle’s 27 points, Minnesota could not sustain the pace.

The series now returns to Minneapolis, where a decisive Game 6 of the 2026 NBA Playoffs will be played.

Stars shine and the road to the title is defined
The NBA 2026 playoffs are one of the most followed sporting events by the Hispanic community in the United States.

Teams like Nuggets (with Jokic) or Thunder (with emerging stars) generate great interest, and these results begin to define the road to the championship.

In addition, the performance of international stars and the competitive level make this postseason one of the most attractive in recent years.
