Colombian singers Shakira and Beéle released this Wednesday ‘Algo tú’, a song that fuses Latin and Afro rhythms and recalls indigenous Caribbean instruments such as the Colombian bagpipe.

The single, which the artists sang together for the first time last Saturday at Shakira’s massive concert in front of more than 400,000 people in Mexico City’s Zócalo, is a complement of both artists’ styles, the Colombian singer’s team said in a statement.

“It resulted in an incredible fusion of Latin and Afro, with a nod to indigenous instruments and sounds like the Colombian gaita (flute), recalling the city of Barranquilla, where Shakira and Beéle were born. This is the second collaboration between Shakira and Beéle, after working together in 2025 on the version of their global hit ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ with Ed Sheeran,” the information added.

Just last February, Shakira tattooed Beéle with whom she was shooting a music video in her native Barranquilla.

In the images, the barranquillera appears with black gloves and a tattoo machine while taking ink and drawing on the artist’s skin inside what looks like one of the vans used as dressing rooms during the filming.

Although they did not reveal what the tattoo was, the video was accompanied by the phrase ‘coletera para toda la vida’, in reference to the term ‘coleto’, which previously had a negative connotation referring to a poorly dressed person, but has been redefined in the context of urban music and is now used to describe someone authentic, popular and enterprising.

In another video released by Beéle, the two appear on the hood of an old bus. He, wearing a cap that reads ‘the coletica will set us free’, reported Agencia EFE, tells Shakira: ‘I’m here with my coletica’, while she puts on her makeup and waves to the camera.
