The New England Revolution once again sent a strong message in MLS. The New England side defeated Minnesota United FC 2-1 in an intense match at Gillette Stadiumand regained second place in the Eastern Conference before the championship break for activities related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In front of more than 26,000 fans, the Revolution showed personality, offensive intensity and the ability to react at key moments of the match. The star of the team was once again Spain’s Carles Gil, captain and the Revolution’s absolute leader.
The midfielder opened the scoring just five minutes in from the penalty spot after a foul on Dor Turgeman inside the box.
Gil calmly and accurately converted his 20th MLS penalty kick goal, once again confirming his importance in the New England Revolution’s attacking scheme.
During the first few minutes, the home team dominated the game and created several clear opportunities.
One of the players who attracted the most attention was Peyton Miller, who continues to establish himself as one of the team’s promising young players after generating constant danger on the flanks.
Minnesota reacted, but Revolution held on

Minnesota United managed to react before halftime.
In the 26th minute, Kelvin Yeboah tied the match also from the penalty spot after an infraction committed inside the box by Brooklyn Raines.
The draw did not change much in the course of the game.
Revolution continued to look for the goal and came close to taking the lead again before the break.

In the 49th minute, a great offensive combination between Dor Turgeman and Luca Langoni appeared.
The Israeli striker slipped a precise pass to the Argentine striker, who entered the area and scored with a cross-shot that was impossible for the goalkeeper.
The goal marked the second consecutive game in goal for Langoni, who continues to grow as a key part of the New England Revolution attack.
The Argentine now shares the team’s offensive leadership along with Carles Gil with nine direct goal contributions during the season.

Down the stretch in this MLS match, goalkeeper Matt Turner became an absolute hero for the New England Revolution.
The U.S. goalkeeper made two decisive saves in the 84th and 88th minutes to prevent Minnesota United from equalizing.
Turner closed out the night with six key saves, while the defense chipped in with several important blocks to preserve the lead.
With this result, the Revolution will be motivated for their next match against Charlotte FC.
